Sometimes you need three pages out of a sixty-page report and nothing else. Name the pages you want, and this tool writes them to a new PDF in the order you asked for, leaving the original file alone.
Everything happens inside your browser. A bank statement, a tender document or a set of medical scans is read on your device and written back there, with no upload in between.
Choosing the pages
The page box uses print-dialog syntax. Commas separate single pages, hyphens make ranges, and you can mix the two: 1,4,9-12 keeps six pages. Open ends are allowed, so 30- runs to the end of the document and -5 runs from the start.
Clicking the thumbnails fills the box for you. Pages come out in document order, so the sequence you click in does not change the result.
One file or one file per page
By default the selected pages land in a single PDF. That suits the common case of sending someone the relevant extract of a longer report.
Tick Save each page as its own file when the pages are separate documents that happened to be scanned together. Each one is written on its own, named after the original with its page number appended, so a folder of downloads stays identifiable.
Extract or remove
Two ways exist to describe the same edit. Extracting names what you keep, which is quicker when you want a few pages from many. Removing names what goes, which is quicker when you want most of the document minus a couple of sheets.

What the extracted pages keep
Pages are copied whole. Content, page size, rotation, embedded fonts and image quality all come across untouched, because nothing is re-rendered on the way out.
Links that pointed to a page you left behind will not resolve in the new file, since the target no longer exists. Bookmarks and form fields attached to the wider document may also drop away.

Is my PDF uploaded to extract pages?
No. The file is read in your browser and the new PDF is built there too. Nothing is transmitted, so a confidential report can be trimmed without it leaving your machine.
Can I get each page as a separate file?
Yes. Tick the switch for saving each page on its own. A selection of four pages then produces four PDFs, each named after the original with its page number added.
Do the pages come out in the order I clicked them?
No, they come out in document order. Page 9 always follows page 4, whichever you selected first. To reorder pages, extract them and then combine them with the Merge PDF tool.
What is the difference between extracting and splitting?
Extracting keeps a specific set of pages and discards the rest. Splitting cuts the whole document into pieces without discarding anything, which is what you want for a batch of scanned documents.
Will links and bookmarks still work?
Links pointing at pages you kept will work. Anything pointing at a page you left behind has no target in the new file, and document-level bookmarks may not carry across.
